WHAT IS ECOSISTEAM?

We are an initiative that drives transformation in learning to unleash young students’ potential and increase their development opportunities in the digital age and the XXI century. To achieve our goal, we promote powerful ideas, cutting-edge knowledge and innovative practices applied to the real world, guaranteeing high quality learning for everyone.

We provide visibility and promote the work of organizations and institutions that share educational principles focused on students and real-world learning, as well as learning by doing, learning with others and learning to be.

OUR IMPACT
MODEL

We promote, adapt and transfer emerging and state-of-the-art ideas about STEAM in the real world through forums where ideas are exchanged with renowned experts and publications.

We form partnerships with organizations that have proven track-records in STEAM education to learn from their experiences and transfer their models to Chile’s reality.

We connect different stakeholders who are already carrying out STEAM initiatives in order to promote the exchange and dissemination of their experiences.

We coordinate opportunities for education and exchanging experiences regarding the STEAM approach for leaders, school officials and teachers all across the country.

WE MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO PUBLIC POLICIES

WE MAKE A CONTRIBUTION
TO PUBLIC POLICIES

Among the conclusions reached by the Council, one of the main priorities established is “Strengthening education through interactive methodologies for science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) to create skills for the youth of the new millennium”.

In addition, our proposal also incorporates the main conclusions drawn by the “STEAM education coalition” led by CORFO and Fundación Chile, as well as the recommendations proposed by the National Council of Innovation for Development (CNID) and the Ministry of Culture, the Arts and Heritage, which promote creativity and artistic education.

All of these examples prove just how important it is to emphasize the need for a STEAM and innovation culture in Chile, where education plays a key role in being a source of transformation, creating a bond with science, technology, creativity and innovation. This bond has to be achieved in a practical way, focusing on skills such as collaboration, design/maker thinking, critical thinking and creativity, among others, and based on the integration of the fields of science and technology.

THE ECOSISTEAM ECOSYSTEM

One of the pillars of the ecosiSTEAM project is activating an ecosystem of leading organizations that promote and implement approaches that use learning models that allow for a streamlined development of new STEAM skills and abilities to enhance the creative and innovative capacities of Chile’s youth and ensure their full participation and inclusion in the challenges of the XXI century. In order to achieve our goal, we organize activities that foster the exchange of ideas between institutions, experts and leaders in the fields of education, culture, science, philanthropy, innovation and creativity.
